Orangeville, ON January 7th, 2019 – Dufferin Media, a social media and marketing team, believes in human kindness. To finish 2018 on a positive note, Dufferin Media held a contest to ‘Adopt a Charity’. The company accepted nominations from across North America for the month of December in the hopes of finding a charity to provide free social media, marketing and public relations. After the month long search the team selected Neighbourhood Information Post. The total value of this package is worth over $12,000 for the year.



The selection process was difficult as all nominated charities were so worthy, however Neighbourhood Information Post stood out from the contenders. The outstanding contribution to their community providing financial assistance and housing support to low income individuals really set Neighbourhood Information Post a part. The team at Dufferin Media feel they can help increase awareness and are hard at work creating a plan for 2019. Dufferin Media Owner Sarah Clarke said “Our team is excited to get working with Neighbourhood Information Post. They provide services that are invaluable to the Toronto area and we can’t wait to help promote their work. I feel we are going to learn a lot about what great people do in our community. It will be a very meaningful year.”



Neighbourhood Information Post is a not-for-profit organization that offers services such as the Toronto Rent Bank, Housing Trustee Program, Income Tax Clinics, Energy Assistance Programs, Chinese Senior Programs and other community support initiatives. All programs are geared towards assisting the community with housing and living expense issues. Founded in 1969, Neighbourhood Information Post is a pioneer in innovative homelessness prevention programs. They are a strong community partner in Toronto, especially for low-income individuals and families in the eastern part of Downtown Toronto.



“We are honoured to have been chosen for this opportunity. It is great timing as we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary and we have a lot to tell Toronto about our programs. The main goal is to promote our services and communicate with people that need them most” said Gladys Wong, Executive Director.
